Kontact 4.8.2 contacts slow to update

I upgraded to KDE 4.8.2 yesterday hoping that some of the problems with 4.7.4 
would be fixed, but they weren't. In addition it is now taking about 20 
seconds from clicking on a contact to actually being able to see that 
contact's details, on initial boot it is even slower!

Any ideas on how to fix this?
