attachment display

Hi all,

I added a column to my message list to indicate an email attachment on listed 
emails. The column header looks like a pare clip. However, this seems to be 
useless since even the emails with attachment(s) are not marked in the message 
list, unless you click and preview or open them. Only after that the paper 
clip icon appears on the message list next to that email. Would anybody please 
confirm this? I have Fedora 18, KDE/Kontact/Kmail 4.9.5 here.
