IMAP messages copied to Trash when read

Hi,

I experience a rather annoying problem with my newest mail account, an IMAP 
account provided by the sailing club: All messages appear in the Trash folder 
of the account when marked as read, there marked as unread.

Anyone else who encountered that problem, and have a solution for it?

I checked the server information in the advanced tab of the account settings, 
which gives me this:

IMAP4REV1
UIDPLUS
CHILDREN
NAMESPACE
THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT
THREAD=REFERENCES
SORT
IDLE
AUTH=PLAIN
XMAGICTRASH

I wonder what "XMAGICTRASH" means.
