KMail hangs after viewing email with Google calendar invite.

Running Kubuntu 13.04 and KDE 4.10.5, whenever I receive an email containing 
an invite from Google and view it I am unable to view any more emails.

Instead I get "Retrieving folder contents. Please wait" and it just sits there 
until I quit KMail. I am also unable to delete that email as that causes it to 
display "Retrieving folder contents. Please wait"

Any ideas?
