Sending E-Mail without KMail/Kontact actually running leads to "loss" of E-Mail

Hi,

this is my first mail to this mailing list :)

I found out that when Kontact/KMail is NOT running in the background and I
send an email, e.g., I click a mailto link in a browser, this mail gets send
but not stored in the sent folder (mail is not anywhere else, too).
Looking at the mail server's logs, I can see the email did indeed transmit,
but it is nowhere to be found in my IMAP folders...

Can someone reproduce?
- close KMail/Kontact
- click mailto: link in browser (kmail needs to be default mailer)
- write and send email in mail compose window
- look into sent folder - this email is not there...

I tried it with myself as receipent and the mail arrives, but it is not stored
in the sent folders.

Greetings,

Ben

P.S.: Kubuntu 13.10 / KMail 4.11.5 / KDE 4.11.5
