I just moved the old maildir directory of KMail 1 to ~/.local/share/local-mail
– and let Akonadi pick it up there. Worked quite quickly back then, but I
disabled Nepomuk mail indexing for the import. Shouldn´t be an issue with
Baloo. It indexes those about 700000 mails in my maildirs in about half an
hour. To be safe be sure to make a backup of your maildir.

But I separated mbox folders from it so that it can be handled by the default
maildir resource which only does maildir.

I tried to reactivate my mbox based mail archive, but it needs some memory
work on mixedmail dir resource[1]. Or enhancing mbox resource to handle
several mbox´ in a directory tree. So far I think it handles just one mbox and
I do not want to create and maintain 20 or more mbox resources for my archive.

[1] [Akonadi] [Bug 334318] New: on adding old mail archive mixedmaildir
resource consumes tons of memory
https://bugs.kde.org/334318

Did I make clear already that I love Baloo? First hit after Alt-F2
"mixedmaildir" :)

Ciao,
