Interesting. Do you happen to use any Sieve filters on your IMAP?

Right now I am at Dovecot 2.2.19 but this has been going on for quite some 
time, so either it is a long-standing incompatibility with Dovecot and Kmail2 
or it is something else.

Or at least in the IMAP agent of Akonadi.

Checked that and once the syncing started (for the xth time today), it filled 
up the log quite a bit. But all ended in due time and there were no "hanging" 
jobs whatsoever. Sorry. :(
