Thanks. Sadly, not for me. KMail crashed when I scrolled to the next reply, 
and on the next restart as I navigated back to the answer that followed yours.

I saw one mention in one bug report about Nouveau being the problem and I'm 
starting to suspect that and thinking of moving to the nVidia blob.
