certificate problems - upstream problems?

Hi,

I'm getting all kinds of certificate errors at the moment showing the full HTML in emails from senders where this went without a glitch yesterday.
In addition, Kleopatra shows me a gpg-agent "IPC parameter" connection error, which may be related to why I cannot import certificates or get validity errors on each an every X.509 certificate while refreshing those.

I'm on Ubuntu 14.04.5, gnupg 2.0.22-3ubuntu1.3 (2 years old apparently), running KDE PIM 14.13. I haven't updated anything related to this recently, as far as I know.

Is it possible that whatever is causing this is upstreams from me? Is anyone else having similar issues at the moment?
