It just seemed odd that there was one day of "many duplicates" after many days of no duplicates. i didn't expect that to happen as its so inconsistent.
I have worked with devs on other problems (cups and USB connections) but it was the dev who contacted me to ask to assist in debugging.  I can live with this
Problem now because its rare but what would be nice if for the "remove duplicates" functions to work properly to tidy the folders up. I have posted bug reports.
