Kontact kmail integration broken

After a recent update, when I open Kontact and click the mail tab it will 
seemingly do nothing, but I recently discovered if I leave it to sit for a 
minute it will spawn 2-4 kmail instances outside the Kontact window. Any ideas 
on how to fix it?
