kmail Akonadi Agents plugins

Why is it possible in kmail settings -> Plugins to uncheck any "Akonadi Agents"
although this seems to not change anything ?
E.g. I unchecked "Archive Mail Agent" but the akonadi_archivemail_agent process
is still started and keeps running.
