InterIMAP: Maybe switching to IMAP some day

Hi!

I just stumbled upon

Now… I used POP3 mainly cause I do not like to store years of mail 
history on a server on the internet that could possibly be attacked.

However, if I use that with a local IMAP server, I can still move around 
mails to local maildir directories. Either by using KMail or… if that is 
still too slow and unreliable, some other program.

I can also much better experiment 

InterIMAP appears to be blazing fast. However I did not try it in a real 
life scenario. Anyone using InterIMAP?
