Still trying to get kmail-5 to work on bullseye

Greetings all;

I'm still trying to make kmail-5  read the mail.

Obviously I've 2 local receive set ups, trying to find one that works.
I started the day with 200+ messages in local folders->inbox, and
have managed to ctl+j them into the various directory's you can see.

I've no idea at this point which of the 2 rx profiles it used to access those
200+ msgs and put them away. There is no logical connection between the
location and the names inbox and gene, and the only diff is one is set for 
.Maildir and the other is set for
Maildir, but the only directory that actually has mail in it right now, is 
actually named ~/.Maildir.directory
What I do know is that it has:
gene@coyote:~$ ls -lR .Maildir.directory/ |wc -l
369, not the 409 kmail seems to think is there, total msgs and subdirs in it, 
its broken as far as KMAIL is concerned, and any attempt to read and sort it 
is rejected because its read only because of some error it does not bother to 
define in the popup that fades is 5 seconds.

The even odder part is that I can select one of those msgs, read it, and reply
to it.

Some of those msgs could be usefull so I'd druther not just blow that whole
tree away.

Not the whole thing of coarse, but are those the correct type of files one
should find in that name of a directory?
