Re: missing 12GB of mail going back 2 decades after reboot

Hi,

the point is that there's no real standard concerning subfolders for a local 
maildir. KMail does this:

~ $ ls .local/share/local-mail/
cur  new  tmp
~ $ ls .local/share/.local-mail.directory/
quarantine  drafts  inbox  outbox  sent-mail  templates  trash
====================== %< =======================

So, all subfolders are managed in a sibling directory with the name pattern 
".<foldername>.directory". Each of these subdirectories above has its own 
triple of cur, new and tmp again.
