akonadictl stop
cd .local/share/
mv akonadi akonadi_old
akonadictl start
then leave it to rebuild before starting kmail (i judge that by disk activity 
- there is probably a better way)
then check your kmail configuration because if can throw default folders out 
of line like wastebin, drafts etc  (Accounts/Identities/Advanced)

This process unfortunately did not solve this problem so i've created a new 
user.
