After upgrading to Kubuntu 23.04 kmail isn't happy. It appears that mysql didn't shutdown cleanly and the new version of mysql can't clean it up. Googling suggests that one solution is to find a way to boot with an older version of mysql and have it do the DB cleanup, but this sounds tricky. I think I recall folks here saying that there is a way to get rid of the old DB, and when akonidi starts up it will rescan all the mail and rebuild the DB. Can anyone offer some advice on how to do this? Or whether this is a bad idea? Thanks, Michael;
