Creating a Forrest Plugin

I need to create a plugin for Apache Forrest to create charts and have 
decided to use JCharts. Before I go ahead I don't want to duplicate 
efforts, so my question is, has anyone done any done any work on either 
creating an Apache Cocoon Transformer for JCharts and/or created an XML 
representation of input data for JCharts (I have looked at XMLChart on 
sourceforge, but this is under the LGPL license and I need BSD/Apache 
style licensing).
