Are dynamic update to swing panel possible?

I am trying to create a bar chart that is updated at a specified interval.  
So maybe 10 bars with their values changing with an event and repainted.  
What would be the best way to go about doing this?  Does jCharts lend itself 
well to this dynamic updating?  If so, would you mind pointing me in the 
right direction or posting some sample code.
