I looked at it you are doing basically the same as what I wanted to do.
I did make a "preferences" page to set FORREST_HOME.
I also submitted a path with 4 icons (lame but at least different).
However I could not get the plugin to actually successfully bbuild 
something for me.
Also the "Forrest Build" action wrote to the system.out instead of to 
the console.  I will play around with it more tonight.

But I think you might as well just donate to Forrest.   I will ask 
Forrest for commit access to it to help out, but either way, Forrest is 
the right place.
