Your argument appears to be along the lines of "code is easy, so who needs
re-use/sharing, it gets in the way". As such,  I hope you write in simple
assembler. Or, perhaps you write in Java but you avoid those pesky JDK
classes. How dare they force you to use java.lang.String instead of writing
you own each time, that is so constraining! ;-)

Basically, IMHO, there is a time and a place for re-use/sharing. You can
create your own javadoc target as a cent (scriptlet) and share it amongst N
of your own projects (download from a local repository), you don't have to
share with Nick. You can make these scriptlets configurable (via properties
w/ defaults). Further, you can use the shared/re-use (but configurable)
scriptlets/targets that centipede provides (as I do, I don't care about
links).

We never said centipede was better than ant, we said it was ant with extras.
Just as you use existing ant optional/add-on tasks (and darn those folks for
being so irksome as to share such things! ;-) or you can write you own, or
write in lower level ant task, so you can use centipede scriptlets. If you
don't want sharing/re-use, then happily stick to ant.

If you don't have the itch that centipede tries to scratch, then don't spend
your cycles trying to learn it. I feel yours isn't an argument against
centipede's worth, it is a statement about your need.
