Since you started with 'is centipede dead', you don't seem to have the
powers of observation a good reviewer would have. Since you went on to
'prove' that centipede isn't want you need 'cos you use low level ant tasks
(such as javadoc/junit) and don't seem able to recognize that some re-use
works for some groups of people some times, then you don't seem a good
potential tutorial "customer" 'cos you only see with your needs. Since
you've told us you've never used centipede, and don't particularly plan to,
you don't seem a good customer.

Does a cent match the flexibility/configurability of a single ant task, no,
that is ludicrous and arguing it with you is a waste of time -- especially
since we agree. Cents are small pieces of scripts (perhaps an xslt
translation, followed by a jar archive, followed by a publish over FTP) this
is re-usable (i.e. it works adequately for a reasonable number of users, a
decent amount of the time). The cents we ship help us, and others, you don't
have to use them.

There are issues w/ distributing large complex ant scripts amongst a
development group, and centipede is attempting to provide tools to help
that. Is it perfect? no? Is it a worthwhile goal to explore? yes. Centipede
says ant is great, so use it, and supplement with this if/when it helps you.

Now if you'd like to use centipede, and then contribute some positive
feedback -- or better yet -- ideas/questions for a tutorial, then we start
talking. Are you willing to step up to this?
