Newbe question on installing and using barcode application

Hi,
I am newbe to this list. I need to generate barcodes.
I downloaded the zip file  for barcode application. I
have also downloaded ant zip file. Now I dont know
where to go from here. I guess I should unzip these
two files. But again I am stuck after this. I need to
what exactly should I do once I unzip these two files
into two directories. I tried this and then running
the ant file from the barcode directory but it says
something like build failed coz it couldnot find the
build.xml file

I will appreciate if someone could reply.
