Not Krysalis Barcode is the problem, the AWT dependencies of Apache Batik and Apache FOP are. Krysalis Barcode only generates barcodes in SVG which are then converted by Batik and FOP to PDF. May I point you to [1] where you get instructions for running FOP/Batik in a headless environment?
