I had asked this same question last year...

 

in my work we use opensuse too and until now we dont find any solution for this...we have this issue until today..

 

just to clarify it worked in the past and then in a day it stop working...i dont know if it can be the opensuse version because like mike said, it works for other ones...

 

if anyone could please help us...will be appreciated...

Gnome xterm, Gnome term for development on localhost

Putty and/or Tectia ssh client (http://www.ssh.com/index.php/products/tectia-ssh-client.html) for windows clients.

mostly VT100 but I'm open to other options.

With some reading and work-around I install termcap and the borders are now displaying OK, but still without seeing PROMPT Text...

Perhaps modifying /etc/termcap with correct settings?

That seems to work ok for me :

(formatting might not come across in the email - but it is correct )

It might be a termcap/terminfo/terminal emulator issue still - try using 

     PROMPT " Press RETURN to continue." ATTRIBUTE (blue,reverse) FOR answer

(as you know blue and reverse seem to work) - and see if that displays

If that doesn't help - try setting the PROMPT LINE explicitly - 


OPEN WINDOW w_msg AT x, y
WITH numrows ROWS, 52 COLUMNS

ATTRIBUTE (BORDER, PROMPT LINE 6)



Once we know which is the issue - we can look at whats going on - and why it works for me - and not you...

Can you do something like

It might be something to do with the PROMPT LINE - so you might need to set that too.

It might also be something to do with the ATTRIBUTE on any OPTIONS statement, or the PROMPT itself
