Still looking at this and can't get it to work. I've made sure I have the latest ncurses terminfo files and have tried several combinations of linux, putty, (sco)ansi TERM settings and putty codepage selections etc and it's a bit (a lot) like banging your head on a wall (but it's not a big priority, so I'm leaving it for a bit and may come back to it later).
