You should be able to do something like : PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH export PATH ./configure .... You can also try ./configure --with-bison=/usr/local/bin On 23 November 2015 at 18:03, Scott Stillwell <[email protected]> wrote: > I’ve installed 3.0.4…is there a way to get the make process to use THAT version (it’s in /usr/local/bin rather than /usr/bin)? I can’t replace the /usr/bin version as it’s a symbolic link to the actual file in Xcode and it’s quite possible to break Xcode itself. > > >> On Nov 23, 2015, at 10:38 AM, Mike Aubury <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Is there any chance of installing a newer version of Bison - afaics - >> 2.3 is from 2006 :) >> >> (You can probably download and install it in a different place on your >> drive, then set the path to pick that newer version up instead) >> >> >> If not - we might need to find out what the equivalent of >> "%name-prefix" was on that version [ it might be a case that its just >> %name-prefix="a4gl_yy" ]. >> >> >> On 23 November 2015 at 15:52, Scott Stillwell <[email protected]> wrote: >>> Sorry to increase bandwidth on this, but could be pertinent: >>> >>> aubit4glsrc gcc -v >>> Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode7.app/Contents/Developer/usr --with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1 >>> Apple LLVM version 7.0.0 (clang-700.1.76) >>> Target: x86_64-apple-darwin14.5.0 >>> Thread model: posix >>> >>> aubit4glsrc bison --version >>> bison (GNU Bison) 2.3 >>> Written by Robert Corbett and Richard Stallman. >>> >>> Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc. >>> This is free software; see the source for copying conditions.
