Warning ZEROFILL is not implemented for 4GL

When compiling a form that has this attribute statement:

ATTRIBUTES
  f001 = customer.customer_num, ZEROFILL;

I get this warning.
Warning ZEROFILL is not implemented for 4GL
    The form compilation was successful.


What is the method used to achieve the same effect?
