Correct syntax for CENTURY attribute in form

I encounter this error when compiling a form.  If the CENTURY line is commented
then the form compiles.  It may be something obvious to others but I cannot see
what is wrong with this usage.  Any help would be appreciated.

  f000            = FORMONLY.a_date TYPE DATE,
                    CENTURY = "C",
