I dont think you can do that - you could have a single character wide field
before - invisible - and do your control-b in there ?

sort of thing ?

If you really really needed it - it might be possible to add something a
regex for character presses (bit like the "picture") which only allows
certain keypresses by regex - and just make that so they cant actually
press anything (regex=^$)
