Hi,

The pop up box does not show at all or is it hidden ?
Do you use the path window/menu or menu in your template ?
Could you send us a sample application with your template and maybe the CSS file ?

I presume that you have support with your genero license.

If yes, just send an email to [email protected].

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did manage to get the dialog to pop up (via MENU and stylesheet) like a real popup box. However, this
leads me to another problem :

When I am using the default html template that came with the installation, i.e., leaving the line

                     <div gwc:replace="window"></div>

intact in the default html template file, then the dialog box pops up nicely. But when I am using my own customized template html
(replacing the above line with Template Language codes to show the content of the screen differently), the dialog box does not pop
up. Am I missing something in my customized template ?

Fred

Hi,

This is on our request list (request #0007).
For the moment what you can do is:
- either make a OPEN WINDOW in your 4GL but this replace the entire page.
- either use a MENU with a user style. The menu will be displayed on top of your current html page.
Example:
menu "dialog" attributes (image="smiley", style="dialog", comment="Do you want quit ?")
  command "yes"
    let act = "yes"
  on action no
    let act = "no"
  on action quit
    let act = "quit"
end menu

The menu style becomes "gStyleDialog" class at html generation. So you can adapt this class to display a layer on top of the current
page. You can use the following styles:

.gStyleDialog {

     position: absolute;
     left: 50%;
     top: 10%;
     right: auto;

     background-color: red;
     border: 2px solid buttonshadow;
     border-top-color: buttonhighlight;
     border-left-color: buttonhighlight;
    }

    .gStyleDialog .gMenuTitle {
      display:block;
    }

    .gStyleDialog IMG {
      top: 10%;
      display: block;
      margin: 1em 1em 0em 1em;
    }

    .gStyleDialog UL {
     padding: 0.5em;
     text-align: center;
    }

    .gStyleDialog LI {

     display: inline;
    }

Many regards,

Subject: [fourjs-users] Genero Web Front End and popups dialog box - how to ?

Hi all,

In the Genero Web Front End, is there any way to pop up a confirmation dialog box on top of the browser window which the user is
working on ? What I would like to do is that after the user made changes to a screenful of information on the browser window (using
a default html template) but then clicked the "Cancel" button on the top toolbar, I want to pop up a dialog box to ask him/her to
confirm the cancellation. If the user picks "Yes", then the 4GL code will discard the modification. If "No", then the 4GL code will
CONTINUE INPUT.

>From what I have found so far in the documentation, Web Front End only
supports SDI and such a popup is not possible.

Thanks.
