Hi,
maybe the installation is not yet complete.
Does your INFORMIXDIR contain a file "installserver"?
If so, execute this file as user informix,
no serial-no should be required.
If required, you can always use this one:
AAA#B000000
NOZDIP 
Finally, as user root,  execute the file "RUN_AS_ROOT.server"

Hallo 

Has anyone experience in installation of IDS-9.40.UC5-1 on RedHat Enterprise
Edition 3.0 ?

The download comes as rpm-file which must be installed.

Installation was ok, but if I try to start any command i.e. oninit, onmode,
onmonitor,... I always get the following error:

Your evaluation license expired

Invalid serial number.  Please consult the Installation Instructions.

But inside the Installation Instructions I found that there is no SerialNo
necessary for this release.
