Hello,
I have a question about the GAS (Genero Application Server) configiration
file - as.xcf
The EXECUTION_COMPONENT/POOL section/element has 3 parts/elements:
This section is only applicable to web services.
I provided description of these elements (quote from the GAS manual):
START - Zero or one START.
This element specifies the minimum number of Virtual Machines
attached to this Web Service.Constraint: START <= MAX_AVAILABLE
MIN_AVAILABLE - Zero or one MIN_AVAILABLE.
Specificies the minimum number of available
Virtual Machine attached to a Web Service.
It can be either lower or greater than the
value specified by START.Constraint: 0 <= MIN_AVAILABLE <= MAX_AVAILABLE
MAX_AVAILABLE - Zero or one MAX_AVAILABLE.
Specifies the maximum number of available
Virtual Machinesattached to a Web Service.
Constraints:START <= MAX_AVAILABLE
MIN_AVAILABLE <= MAX_AVAILABLE.
Can someone please explain to me the purpose of the START and the
MIN_AVAILABLE elements - (is it the minimum number of virtual machines
ALWAYS available to a web service - which would mean that GAS reserves
appopriate number of licences? - I am not sure....., and what is the meaning
of the START element?)
Thank you for you help...
