automation of wtk client ?

Hello together,
I am looking for a solution for the following problem:
 
I made an Microsoft Access application that holds data to be transferrred to a application that is runnung on a unix / informix server. The data, At the moment our users type in data in WTK client windows manually by reading in Access application and typing in them in WTK client.
 
Is there a way to automate this. In the past we used a terminal client that could be contolled remotly by DDE commands in by sending keys (text strings) to the client window. 
 
Does anyone know a similar way with WTK client ?
The DDE program was like
- wait untiel text "user name" appears in client windows
- send username to the client, then send ENTER
- wait until "enter password" appears
- send password, then ENTER
- wait until main menu appears
- select .......
