Fourjs BDL 3.x on linux to MS-SQL server database on W2002

Hi all,
 
I have a 4js app running on windows 2000 server, both app and database
are windows based.
Is is possible to port the app to linux and still keep database in SQL
Server, like configuring some sort of ODBC connection from linux to SQL
server windows 2000?
 
Btw and the reason of my need ... has anyone tried the ataman 4.x on
windows 2000 server with positive improvements on the number of allowed
connections? I tried all the suggestions tunning ataman (and also a new
windows server) but I couldn't pass the 25-30 simultaneous connections
:-(
