Hi Florencia, if the user (you:-) once has set the font interactively this has precedence over the default settings in "locals.tcl". (You may inhibit that with gui.user.font.choice = false in fglprofile, but I don't treat this a good idea) But initially it's fine to set the following 3 entries in locals.tcl to have a default of your choice: *FglEntry.font: Courier New-Normal-p9 *FglButtonMenu.font: Tahoma-Normal-p9 *FglCanvas.font: Courier New-Normal-p9 If you use the following entry in fglprofile: gui.config.file="e:/alluser/locals.tcl" and this is copy of locals.tcl is on a network drive, all users have your defaults. As already said, if the user once chose a different font (and saved it via System Menu->Configuration->Save Cofiguration), this is saved in his registry and he can only revert to the original configuration by choosing System Menu->Configuration->Reset to Defaults which rereads locals.tcl then from the configured location. If you feel that it's necessary that you override the fonts the user already chose in an earlier version than you are really forced to clean the users registry items for this (But I really would not recommend this). I've been out of the office last week. Just checked my "locals.tcl" and I do have an entry : *font: Lucida Console-Normal-10 But if I run a program, and check the font settings (using Aladins lamp ...) I have SystemPc Style=Normal and Size=9, which reflects in the following Registry entry : [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Four J's Development Tools\Windows Front End\Configuration\Fonts\UserFonts] "FglEntryF"="SystemPC-Normal-OEM-CHARSET_OEM-p9" So, my question here, is, how could I send a "default" font setting through the "locals.tcl" file, to my new instalations ? We normally customize the locals.tcl with our defult colors, and we send that to new installations. So I'd like to put there our default font setting, so we don't have to manipulate the client PC registry. So if I want a default font different than that "Lucida Console" (which I don't know where it came from), how can I change it in the locals.tcl ? I couldn't find a way with the "Configuration Manager" tool. And if I edit by hand the "locals.tcl" I might corrupt it. Is there a way to do this ? Just my 2 cents: The fonts are taken (and stored) in locals.tcl or whatever you replace it with in fglprofile. Only in case the user of the PC overwrites this setting in the PC (using Aladins.lamp and so on) it is stored in the local registry.
