I have the answer by now & since my excel runs in

German, I have to use "Z1S1" instead of "R"ow and "C"olumn,

Thank you anyway

Isn't the second parameter of DDEConnect & DDEPoke the sheet name (ie Sheet1), not the file name?

Tim

Subject: [fourjs-users] DDE-Problem

Dear all,

We have a problem concerning DDE within Genero -

Here I have the simple code,

which opens the "empty1"-Excelsheet

and displays "rc1=1" and "rc2=1",

but does not alter the specified cell in Excel - Why not ???

LET l_rc = WinExec("C:\\\\programme\\\\microsoft office\\\\office11\\\\Excel C

:\\\\empty1.xls")

LET l_rc = DDEConnect("Excel","empty1.xls")

display "rc1=", l_rc

LET l_rc = DDEPoke("Excel","empty1.xls","R1C1","hallo")

display "rc2=", l_rc

CALL DDEFinishAll()

Thank you very much in advance,

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen
