DDE: MS-WORD

Hi All,
 
I've got a slight problem when using DDE with MS-WORD.  I am attempting
to open a blank document, "poke" some text into it and send it to the
local printer.  At each stage through this process, I recieve ACKTIMEOUT
errors.  I would assume from this that WORD responds to DDE requests
differently to Excel (which has never given me any trouble!).
 
Anyone have any ideas of a workaround or another method of performing
this task that works?
 
I am using Genero 1.32.1p and Office XP.
