You can also use a formfield (dynamic) label as opposed to a static label e.g.

LAYOUT
GRID
{
[l01                               ]
...
}
END
END
ATTRIBUTES
LABEL l01 = formonly.label1;


and in your 4GL

DISPLAY "XYZ" TO label1


Also as I suggested yesterday, have a look at the examples in $FGLDIR/demo/Widgets  (%FGLDIR%\demo\Widgets if your Windows)
