It's called ASCII Runtime https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ascii-runtime-ibm-i Regards, Alexei -------- Original Message -------- Subject : [C400-L] ASCII library for ILE From : Niels Liisberg nli-y1igGha7WhZnI0JKdf8LmQC/[email protected] To : "Bare Metal Programming IBM i (AS/400 and iSeries)" <[email protected]> Cc : Date : Wednesday, October 1, 2025 15:07 Once there was a special service program that supported ASCII in the ILE environment. I Simply can not remember the name of that I am in a situation where I need some of the good old sprintf, regex and other stdio/stdlib etc. routine. My data, however, is in ASCII and I need it ILE. I cloud potentially convert data to unicode and use the _w_ functions, but i'll prefere it to be straight up ASCII Anyone remember that trick?
