No. IBM has stated that they will only be issuing the LTS releases. That is every 3rd version starting with 8. So 11 will be the next version on IBM i followed by 14.

Subject: Java 9? CHACHA20 ciphers?
Importance: Low

Has Java 9 been made available for any OS release on Midrange boxes? Is it expected sometime before heat-death of the Universe?

In the unlikely event that it's available, does its JSSE have "ECDHE-RSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305"?
