Short of scraping something from a 5250 screen I can't think so. And even that can be customized so you have to be careful.

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
Folks:
Does anyone know of a way to determine a systems maximum password
length (QPWDLVL system value) before connecting?
I want to have my login dialog present a properly validated password
field ... but haven't found a way to determine the value.
Thanks!
