I found the null by adding a bunch of println() statements. Now that I've found it, I can hardly believe my eyes. The program reads one of about 20 CSV files (based on input parms) that reside on an SMB server. For one particular file (last changed 12/13/2001), two specific lines are being truncated. The read completes normally, and the NullPointerException is when the Java code tries to reference the CSV element that wasn't read. Too weird... I have a few networking and QNTC tickets open with IBM support. I'm going to put this one off until those are resolved.
