I didn't think there were many that mattered these days Mark but I  
bow to your superior knowledge on the subject.

I think this misses the point - it is possible to write obscure code  
in any language - it is simply that some (APL being a good example of  
a write-only language) do a "better" job than others.

The point I was trying to make was that there are a lot more tools  
out there to work with C code and by using C rather than MI you can  
use the (relatively) easy approach to file handling etc. provided by  
C rather than having to code it al the hard way in MI.  You can also  
bind the resulting code into an RPG program for that matter.
