Same output occurs when writing the transparent data without the  
horizontal scroll bar or if a window is displayed over the  
"interesting" screen data. The display is not corrected when the  
window is removed.

Im not sure what's happening either. It's interesting but I'm more  
interested in what prompted Gene to try this--writing data into a  
scroll bar seems an insane thing to be attempting.
