aged .. retired .. without connection to an I-series for some years .. this list has kept me thinking .. spent many years at the 'hardware level' of computers .. and ever at heart a believer in understanding the machine level so MI-400 had power to use hardware in exceptional ways .. [greatest implementation] I saw was internally in Apple .. There's also next to no traffic at all on the C list, and not a whole lot more on the Java list. I still do a certain amount of work in MI, and would be very sad to see the List go. Don: So, the list does not get much (or any) traffic nowadays ... is there any "cost" to maintaining the list? Furthermore, the archives of the MI400 list contains much important information that cannot be found anywhere else. Even if this list is "shut down" to new traffic, the archives should be maintained "for posterity". Mark S. We are still using MI for a few performance sensitive programs, but not having had any MI problems or questions, we have not used the MI list the last few years. Judging from that it seems unlikely that we will need the MI list again, but it has been nice to know it is there "just in case".....
