Another option I would be fond of since they are on the same LAN would be t=
o do the program call over ODBC (you can register your RPG program as a sto=
red proc or call it directly via ODBC).

And then once the call comes back simply run an SQL query to get the result=
s. =


But IWS should work fine as well.  =

I'm in charge for the power server/IBM i/rpg ile part of the game. and I sh=
ould find a way to allow access to this information to whoever is implement=
ing the nodejs part.

Ultimately, I think the cleanest choice is IWS. Even though I don't like th=
e complications of deploying it.

The Node Toolkit uses XMLSERVICE under the hood, so I'd always have to mana=
ge an HTTP server instance. XMLSERVICE has its advantages and disadvantages=
, too.
Ultimately, I think I can encapsulate the execution of pgm1 more easily wit=
h IWS than with other tools and return the response as JSON, avoiding other=
 "weird" =

processing on the other end.
