Actually. my report made it pretty obvious how to proceed.  I had used
Debian's mk rather than using the mk distributed with qc--.
Using qc--'s mk worked much better.

There were still a few FAILures while running the tests.  Most of this 
seemed to be associated with 'tiger', which I was warned about in the 
INSTALL file.

There were a few others.  I'll try to provide a coherent report soon.
I doubt anyone wants to read the entire 230K of script output.
