Hi Mark...

This is an interesting project, although I doubt I could contribute
much. I know a little bit, but not a lot, about Bitcoin. I know that
the protocol incorporates some scripting capabilities, but don't know
too much about them. Your requirements are sensible, although I feel
like your goals for the type system may pose very significant
challenges. I do wonder why you restrict yourself to
concatenative/stack-based designs. It seems like you may also want to
consider a more traditional (i.e., applicative) total functional
programming language design, since there is significantly more work in
type systems there that might be more directly applicable.

Anyway, I'd be interested to follow discussion of this project, if
possible. Is there a mailing list or similar where people are (or will
be) talking about this?
