What am I missing ?!
Since the 90's when my ISP told that I couldn't use Win3 any longer,
and would have to buy W95, I said "srew-you" and found linux and
ETHOberon. Since then I've been using ETHO [linux based mostly recently]
for 200 days per year. The mail-list doesn't mention "Oberon virtual machine".
Yes: in the 70s there was the UnivSanDiegoPseudoCode system Pascal
implementation.
Using Wirth's simplest recursive descent compiler to generate P-code for a
VM, which had only a few virtual-instruction was an easy way to port a
HiLevelLanguage onto new microprocessors, before forth became well known.
It seems strange that Bitcoin is asking these questions.
I thought it was established & matured?
That ETHO's HumanComputeInterface is superb, but apparently unpopular, is
also strange to me. Since I lost my <basic ISP> who could handle proper
ETHO-based email, gmail has been a disaster.
